How i did it wrong
Soon after my husband and I moved into our acreage home, we had a terrible incident of water leak from the ceiling of our living room (like a waterfall!). On top of learning how the automatic watering system works in the yard, setting up utilities in our names, barely un-boxing our stuff, this was a nightmare. We thought we had done everything right performing inspections during the purchase process. As it turned out, we could have started a professional pest service, and the pests chewing through our waterlines could have been avoided. I wish someone could have warned us about some of the high cost home maintenance items that we could have prevented before moving into our acreage home.
Having gone through these incidents, I've learned (and am still learning) how to best take care of an acreage property. I’m passionate about the dream lifestyle that acreage homes offer and real estate ownership being a great wealth building tool.
